Founding Designer
Why we're hiring
Our product helps security teams quickly and accurately detect intrusions in their cloud environment using canaries - decoy tripwires deployed to deceive attackers.
We're at a massive inflection point and this is a hugely exciting time to join the company:
- We are backed by some of the best investors in the space (Accel, Tapestry).
- We are growing very quickly (we doubled ARR last quarter) and have signed some massive clients, including Riot Games, Synthesia, Docker, Coveo and Snyk, but also some others we can't disclose.
- We are one of the most exciting startups to be part of in the UK, have seen some great feedback from the market and are ready for explosive growth.
- Regularly featured on top startup lists from industry veterans…
- Creandum's Euro Seed top 50 list, Sifted's 2025 London Startups To Watch, Notions Cloud Top 100, AlbionVC's NHI Breakdown, MMCs Proactive Security Analysis, Accel's Euroscape Top Startups 2024, etc.
- Our research has recently helped fix a P1 security flaw in Google's Gemini CLI.
- Regularly featured on top startup lists from industry veterans…
- We're Seed stage, and have grown the company from 2 people 18 months ago to 11 today, with plans to triple this in the coming year.
We've reached the point where our brand and digital presence need to level up and match the quality of our product and the caliber of customers we're winning.
You'll be our first dedicated brand and design hire, working across the entire company to elevate how we show up in the market. This role is distinct from our Product Designer role - you'll own our external brand, marketing site, and all customer-facing materials, while collaborating closely with the product design and marketing functions.
Who we're looking for
You're a passionate designer who gets their energy from making a companies brand exceptional. You've spent 5+ years working as a professional designer, ideally in a B2B context. You know how to communicate complex technical value propositions visually, and you understand the importance and power of delightful design when selling to enterprise buyers
You ship high-quality work at startup speed. You can design a compelling homepage this week, create sales collateral next week, and build out event materials the week after. You're comfortable wearing multiple hats and context-switching between projects. You prioritize ruthlessly and know when something needs to be pixel-perfect, and when good enough gets us to the next milestone.
You can establish and evolve a brand. We have the foundations, but we need someone to mature and systematize our brand. You'll create brand guidelines, build a library of assets, and ensure consistency across every touchpoint - from our website to conference booths to LinkedIn posts. You see brand as an investment that compounds over time, not just a creative exercise.
You collaborate effectively. You'll work closely with external agencies and teams, our Founding Product Designer and our marketing team on our visual system, with our sales team on pitch decks and one-pagers, with our CEO on positioning and messaging and with our marketing team on website implementation. You seek feedback early, iterate based on input, and build consensus around design decisions.
You understand technical audiences. You don't need to know how to deploy Kubernetes, but you should be able to grasp technical concepts well enough to represent them visually. When engineers and security professionals explain what makes our product different, you can translate that into compelling design that resonates with technical buyers.
About the role
Your core focus:
- Elevate our brand identity. Take our existing brand foundations and mature them into a cohesive, professional system. Create comprehensive brand guidelines, build asset libraries, design templates, and ensure consistency across all materials.
- Build our content design capability. Create templates and assets for blog posts, social media, documentation, and other content. Make it easy for our team to produce professional-looking materials without needing designer input every time.
- Partner with Product Design. Collaborate with our Founding Product Designer to ensure visual consistency between our product and marketing. Share components, align on design patterns, and contribute to our broader design culture.
- Move fast and iterate. Ship work weekly. Get feedback from real customer conversations. Learn what resonates and what doesn't. Improve based on data and qualitative insights. You'll be close to the business, so you'll see directly how your work impacts pipeline and revenue.
- Create sales and marketing materials. Design pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, demo videos, and other collateral that help our sales team close deals. Translate technical product capabilities into compelling visual stories that resonate with CISOs and security teams.
- Support our event presence. Design booth materials, swag, presentations, and other assets for conferences and industry events. Help us stand out at Black Hat, RSA, and other security events where we're building our brand.
This role is hands-on and broad. You'll be designing, building, presenting, and collaborating across the entire company. As we grow, there will be opportunities to build out the brand and marketing design function, but for now, you'll be in the weeds making things happen.
FAQs
Where is the office?
The whole team works together in an office right next to Warren Street tube station - there are lots of great places to grab lunch nearby.
Are you doing hybrid/remote?
Short answer: No, but flexible on a day to day basis.
Long answer: We are set on building the company on a foundation of an office based culture. We are a very early stage company and think that we'll build the best company at the fastest pace we can whilst also having a lot of fun by physically working together 5 days a week. On a case by case basis (e.g. leaving early for a holiday, staying home for a builder, working remote for a few days to visit family, etc. etc.) we're very reasonable and flexible. We respect that this is not for everyone.
What are the working hours like?
We think 9am-6pm will bring a great cadence to work. As a Founding Designer there will definitely be times you need to pick up work outside of these hours, we're keen to limit this where we can but also offer flexibility in return.
Can you sponsor visas?
We are not able to sponsor visas for this role.
